Live Zoom Event
Tuesday, April 22

12:00pm Eastern | 11:00am Central | 9:00am Pacific

In this live event, you will hear from Hadas Lahav, Sindyanna of Galilee's Founder and CEO, Hanan Manadra Zoabi, Director of Marketing and Social Projects, and Jenan Diabat, Accounting Manager.

Established in 1996, Sindyanna of Galilee is a female-led non-profit that actively promotes the concepts of “business for peace” and fair trade in Israel. The organization sells olive oil from Arab small farmers and then channels all of the profits back into Arab women's education and other economic activities. This allows Jews and Arabs to reach across the cultural divide to support one another in the areas of sustainable agriculture and organic farming.

Their staff consists of Arab and Jewish women who share a vision of peaceful coexistence and work towards this goal side by side with skill and care. Over the years, Sindyanna of Galilee has initiated a number of projects that promote their core values of reclamation, modernization of traditional Arab farming and agriculture, women empowerment, Jewish-Arab coexistence, and fair trade.

The name Sindyanna corresponds to the most common tree in the Galilee, the Palestine oak (Quercus calliprinos), which is renowned in local culture for its rootedness to the land, longevity, evergreen foliage, and endurance.

Equal Exchange purchases Organic Sindyanna Extra Peaceful Olive Oil from this inspiring group. We will soon be expanding our olive oil line to include Sindyanna’s olive oil under the Equal Exchange brand.
